Force–Angle Resolution
Calculate Rotary vs. Stabilizing Muscle Forces
30°
Angle between muscle tendon & bone.
Rotary Force
50 N
(Causing Movement)
Stabilizing Force
87 N
(Compression)
Total Force
Rotary ($F_y$)
Stabilizing ($F_x$)
🎓 Biomechanics Lesson:
- Rotary Component ($F \sin \theta$): This force actually rotates the bone. It is highest at 90°.
- Stabilizing Component ($F \cos \theta$): This force pulls the bone into the joint socket (Compression). If the angle is >90°, it becomes a Dislocating Force.
